In light of the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 across Canada, the profession has decided it will not be delivering the April CPA preparatory course examinations in person as was previously communicated in December 2021. Instead, the examinations will be delivered remotely
Students will write their assessments at home or another remote location using their own computers. If you are planning to write an assessment in Semester 2, ensure that you have:
- reliable internet access.
- word processor (i.e. ".docx" format) and spreadsheet (i.e. ".xlsx" format) applications installed on your computer.
- the hardware, operating, software, and other computer requirements specified in the Learning management system section of the CPA Canada Preparatory Courses Student Guide.
To minimize conflicts for students writing multiple examinations during this evaluation period, the dates of the assessments for April 2022 have been revised. Please review the updated April schedule posted here on our website for assessment dates, times, and deadlines.
Please note that the decision to deliver remote examinations is applicable only for the April 2022 semester. The profession will determine the delivery model for future assessments and any vaccine requirements, in accordance with public health guidelines, at a later date.
If you are registered for an exam in April, you will receive further information on the assessment format that will be used for your course on March 17, 2022.
We are committed to keeping you informed of updates as we continue to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Please review the regularly-updated FAQs document on the CPA Canada website
for valuable information that addresses students’ concerns related to the profession’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including meeting practical experience requirements, conditional admission for courses, and much more.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this ever-evolving situation. We continue to wish you well in your studies.
